If you’re new to THE DERRY BROWNFIELD SHOW, rest assured your have entered the “country boy’s site.” If you’ve read Derry’s biography, you know that he is a down-home country boy that’s made a living out of toil, sweat and hard work. He’s been in radio for over 40 years and is a livestock market expert.
Me, on the other hand….. I grew up in the city and moved to the country in my teens. (Culture shock, for sure~) It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the solitude, ease and clean air of country living. This city girl had an awakening of a large country-proportion when I married a young farmer man. We struggled on the farm for over 12 years and then decided to move on. Raising a large family (FIVE sons) was demanding in many ways. After a tragic fire and loss of our farm home, my husband decided to go full-time into construction, so with tears and a saddened heart we said goodbye to farm-life.
The point I’m trying to make is that this country is the epitome of diversity. Americans are from all walks and works of life. The Founding Fathers were a diverse group of men, dedicated to establishing a country based on the laws of God and freedom for men. Whether you’re a farmer, rancher, retailer, doctor, janitor, store clerk, mechanic, nurse, salesmen, factory worker, bridge builder, engineer, banker, teller, construction worker, pastor, secretary, teacher OR OTHER… WE MUST UNITE to protect our Constitution and freedoms. Freedom is never truly won it’s a constant battle for “we the people.”
I encourage you to study the Declaration of Independence as well as the Constitution of the United States. We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
This country’s government was set up to remain small and simple, not large and complicated… a government controlled by the people… “The people are the masters of both Congress and courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it!” (Abraham Lincoln)
Just as our Founding Fathers rebelled against a tyrannical government and king, we the people must hold the elected and the appointed accountable ~ we the diversified people of these United States must hold our government officials liable for their actions.
